Tarpaulin sheets are generally utilised as a short-term covering for a variety of outside construction materials and projects. We offer three grades/weights and each is available in a variety of different sizes. All Tarpaulins are waterproof, rot and shrink-proof and feature multiple aluminium eyelets across the length of each sheet.
Our 80gsm Lightweight Tarpaulins are ideal for covering domestic projects on a smaller scale, for example protecting garden furniture and keeping wood-stacks dry.
Our 140gsm Mediumweight and 170gsm Standard Tarpaulins can be used in outside conditions for longer periods of time. They are suitable for covering various goods and tools on construction sites and sheltering ongoing building projects.
Our 250 and 270gsm Heavy-Duty Tarpaulins are best suited for larger scale coverings and are popularly used as a temporary roof cover for ongoing construction projects.

Why a Tarpaulin with Eyelets?
Our Lightweight and Standard/Mediumweight Tarpaulins both feature 12mm aluminium eyelets at 1m intervals across all four sides of the sheet, whilst our Heavy Duty Tarp 12mm aluminium eyelets sit at 50cm intervals.
Eyelets allow any sized Tarp to be fixed securely in place using our Ball Bungees, whilst still allowing for ventilation and flexibility. Simply pass the elastic loop of the Ball Bungee through the eyelets of your Tarpaulin until the plastic ball sits flush against the eyelet, before using the loop to fasten to a fixed point and pulling the elasticated loop back over the plastic ball.
Are Tarpaulin sheets waterproof?
Yes, all of our Tarpaulin weights are waterproof and will protect goods and projects against wet weather conditions if installed correctly.
Which grade of Tarpaulin sheet is best for me?
If you are looking for a short-term covering to use in a domestic setting, for example, to cover garden furniture or wood stacks, then an 80gsm Lightweight Tarpaulin would be the most suitable option.
If you are looking for a mid-term outdoor covering, to protect for example building tools or partially finished ground-level projects, then our 140 or 170gsm Tarpaulins would be best suited.
If you are in need of a long-term, temporary covering to cover a building that is in the midst of construction - ie, it has no roof, then our 250 and 270gsm Heavy Duty Tarpaulins are the best choice.
What is the lifespan of a Tarpaulin?
All of our Tarpaulin thicknesses are subject to differing weather conditions and multiple uses, and so we cannot put a time length on their lifespan. Generally, our 270gsm Heavy-Duty Tarpaulin will last longer than our 80gsm Lightweight Tarps for example, however this all depends on the conditions they are used in and the quality of how they have been fitted. To get the most out of your Tarp, we recommend it is securely fastened with Ball Bungees (link) and is not able to beat in the wind.
What is the longest lasting outdoor Tarp?
Out of our Lightweight, Standard and Heavy Duty Tarpaulins, our 270gsm Heavy Duty Tarp will last the longest in outside conditions. Please note, that all our Tarpaulins are designed to be used as a temporary covering and not as a permanent solution.
